Jodi Penfold

thumb_jodi_penfold_1.jpg Inspired by Western Australian pearls and with a passion for producing stunningly unique jewellery, Aspects of Kings Park welcomes the award winning designs by Broome jeweller, Jodi Penfold.

Working almost exclusively with Australian resources of precious stones and metals, Jodi creates contemporary designs combining and contrasting the purity of the pearl with the vibrant spectral colours of natural gemstones such as diamonds, sapphires, opals and other semi-precious stones; using at times, more interesting materials such as crocodile leather.

"To be able to work with a pearl from the day of seeding, to harvesting, the grading process, then to create a unique piece of jewellery, heightens my appreciation and gives me a real sense of satisfaction at having created a piece from start to finish."

jodi_penfold_2.jpg Originally from Queensland's Sunshine Coast where she gained a string of accolades and awards in recognition of her talents, Jodi moved to Broome in 2003. Since then, she has participated in the BSMF jewellery design competition in 2004 and 2005 and won honours for both entries.

"Sometimes a pearl defines its own setting because it is so distinctive that the design has to compliment its rare shape. It is important that all the different elements come together whilst retaining their individuality and complimenting each other."
