Aspects of Kings Park has donated a wood sculpture by South Australia artist Peter Carrigy to a silent auction aimed at raising funds for the Victoria Fire Appeal.

'Firepod Bowl' was inspired by bush fire ecology and the cycle of life where banksia seed pods are opened by fire to release the seeds. Made from redgum and painted with grass tree resin, the piece retails at $880.

Aspects Manager Nicole Parks said "we felt this piece was particularly appropriate as it reflects environmental regeneration after a bush fire".

Together with Fraser's Restaurant, the Restaurant and Catering Association, their suppliers and many other contributors, a cocktail event is being held on Monday 23 February 2009 to raise much needed funds to help the thousands in need as a result of the devastating fires.

Tickets to the event at Fraser's marquee are $60 per person. To find out more details contact Fraser's Restaurant on telephone: 08 9481 7401.
